The Institute of African Studies was established on 14th September 2011 as a semi-autonomous institute within Kenyatta University. The mandate of the Institute is to conduct research and offer teaching programmes on the peoples and cultural heritage of African and to disseminate the findings. The Institute will also endeavor to publish research reports generated by researchers and students.

What we're doing with them

Our main academia partner with whom we have an MoU to carry out further research on the Sheng language.
The MoU covers joint publication, research and production of multimedia content.
